More Safety Tips to Follow

Below is a short list of safety tips to follow. Print the list and place it in your workshop as a reminder.

  • ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOUR HANDS ARE AT ALL TIMES!
  • Wear safety glasses or goggles when you are using power tools, chiseling, sanding, scraping or hammering overhead.
  • A dust mask is a good protection device.Wear ear protectors when using noisy power tools to avoid damage to your hearing, as some tools operate at harmful noise levels.

  • Wear a respirator or face mask when sanding, sawing or using substances with toxic fumes.

  • Always use the right tool for the job, including the appropriate workbench furniture for the activity performed.
  • Repair or replace tools that have cracks in the wooden handles or chips in the metal parts.
  • Never drill, shape or saw anything that isn't firmly secured.
  • Take care when you store or discard oily rags, as these items are spontaneously combustible.
  • Do not abuse your tools. Read the operation manual of each tool to use them properly.
